Job Description

Starrycare is recruiting social worker. To work proactively with children and families using the Signs of Safety practice model, in order to effectively understand and assess their needs and risks, and provide a clear plan in response, which may transfer to a social work team for a statutory intervention, facilitate access to early help, or signpost to other community based services. To be competent in all areas of the PCF at Social Worker level and The Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS) for approved child and family practitioners.
Responsibilities
• Manage a caseload within a framework of appropriate reflective supervision, undertaking focused, analytical assessments, SMART plans and reviews that have clear objectives and outcome measures in order to ensure that all vulnerable children receive a service that reflects the Council’s commitment to safeguarding and putting the needs of individual children first.
• Demonstrate and model good practice that reflects a commitment to relationship- and strengths-based practice, working collaboratively with children, young people and their families
• Work directly with children and young people to establish their lived experiences, wishes and feelings, using a variety of techniques, as required.
Qualifications and/or experience:
• Degree in relevant professional or equivalent qualification e.g. Certificate of Qualification in Social Work or Diploma in Social Work.
• Registration with the relevant professional registration body and responsibility for maintaining registration with that body.
• Approved Mental Health Practitioner (it is a requirement to have AMHP qualification or to be working towards the qualification to be complete within 2 years of appointment and to maintain level of knowledge).
